Göteborg Art Sounds are deeply happy and humble to be able to present the new artistic directors of GAS from 2024 and going forward: Stefan Klaverdel (SE) and Clara de Asís (ES/NL). Here below you can read more about them.

The closing weekend for the 2022 edition of Göteborg Art Sounds is almost upon us! So far, the festival has treated us to some truly amazing moments. From the amazing opening concert at Vasakyrkan last Saturday, via free improv with students and established musicians to the myriad of expressions that has been EME so far. Not to mention the grand scale orchestra concerts at Göteborgs Konserthus. But we still have some good stuff coming up Friday and Saturday October 21-22.

The international artistic curators for the 2022 edition of the festival are Glasgow based Cathie Boyd and Joost Fonteyne from Belgium. We wanted to share a bit more on why they chose the artists they did, so we simply asked them to briefly elaborate on the choices they’ve made. Here are Cathie Boyd’s thoughts on her selection for this year’s festival!

Monday October 17 at 7pm, we’re presenting a concert that is unique in every way. Here, composer and musician Herman Müntzing will gather an ensemble consisting of established impov-musicians from Gothenburg, students from Högskolan för Scen och Musik and students from Kulturskolan Askim-Frölunda-Högsbo to perform the piece MORF1.
