The festival took place from October 11-25, with the main days concentrated around October 16 – 19. During this edition of the festival, we presented artists from The United Kingdom, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, The United States, China, Denmark, Iceland, Greece and Sweden at twelve different venues in and around Gothenburg.

The festival theme was focused around “Reflections”. There was a transition where the festival’s Artistic Director Staffan Mossenmark left the festival and new Artistic Directors Clara de Asís and Stefan Klaverdal entered to curate further editions of Göteborg Art Sounds.

“This year’s edition of Göteborg Art Sounds holds special significance as we celebrate 25 years of Göteborg Art Sounds, founded in 1999. It is also this year that we bid farewell to Staffan Mossenmark, who for the last 15 years has been the Artistic Director of GAS. We are honored to take over as Artistic Directors for upcoming festivals and projects, and excited to contribute to it by programming two concerts this year. These performances reflect our shared commitment to shaping the future of the festival, building on its foundations from 2025 onwards, as new artistic co-directors.

GAS is a festival that embraces a wide spectrum of sound practices, from improvisation to composition, spanning electronic and acoustic music. Attending the festival invites us to tune in and listen, taking in everything from raw, intense sounds to the most delicate, within unique and unconventional settings. It’s also an opportunity to foster community, encourage plurality and connect with amazing people.

Join us as we celebrate GAS 25th anniversary, to reflect upon what has been and look ahead to what’s to come. See (and hear) you out there!”
