The idea was to present individuals, groups and phenomenon that were signified by their burning commitment and the potential to instigate a debate. Our aim was to find topics and expressions that dealt with our society and the world around us while still promoting artistic values. We wanted to place the audience and the art in a contemporary context. We wanted to find a mix of artistic expressions that had a burning attitude, firmly connected to the world we live in. Themes like democracy, activism and equality acted as the connecting idea through talks, film screenings and readings.
In addition to the more traditional music and art venues there we’re concerts at Hagabadet (a very posh public bath house), at Skansen Kronan (a fortress from the 17th century), in Nordstan (the city’s largest shopping mall) and at Feskekôrka (the largest remaining fish market in Gothenburg). There were intimate solo performances, artists meetings, ritualistic space rock, powerful drone pieces and the most serene and lush chamber music.
