Welcome to a talk by Spanish sound artist Pablo Sanz who will share about his work and working methods.
During the 2022 edition of the GAS Festival we are launching the showcase concept EME – Experimental Music Expo.
EME is about presenting established and un-established experimental artists and ensembles in a smaller format, for initiated industry professionals as well as for the general public. Think of it as an informal trade fair for experimental music in the widest sense of the word. EME takes place in Gothenburg during three full days on October 18-20th as part of the 2022 edition of the GAS Festival. These EME events below are marked with a slight purple tone.

This duo’s music is an abstract reminiscent of folkish, primal, experimental, organic and timeless music. The musical concept of double bass and the traditional Estonian bagpipe torupill is representative for the duo’s way of thinking about form and musical storytelling through an extended use of the instruments’ possibilities.

Laure Boer is a multi-instrumentalist based in Berlin. Her music is inspired by noise and traditional folk music. Her performances are hypnotic improvisations around traditional instruments, odd percussions and sometimes a voice, singing or reciting in her native French; a vibrant universe that is both vulnerable and brutal.

Andrius works through objects, installations and time-based collaborations with musicians. Sonic vernaculars, non-western traditions of music making, and peripheral forms of knowledge are the focus of his most current work. Using open musical forms, alternate tuning systems, resonance, and instrument design, Arutiunian often works with sound’s political and speculative aspects.
