The 2020 edition of the GAS festival is over. From October 10th-17th we have presented artists and ensembles from USA, Australia, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Canada and Sweden. Exclusive live concerts, live streams, pre-recorded concerts and in-depth interviews with the artists and with our international curators.
We have experienced extraordinary technical feats as well as intimate and up front performances in new and unexpected settings. Drones, contemporary music, opera, improv, electronics, folk and world music and more.
Our online program has attracted viewers from Canada, USA, Great Britain, Russia and Sweden, and through our collaborators we have had viewers from Spain, Norway, Uganda, Japan and Moldavia. Up until today we have had more than 1300 views at our YouTube channel. Not bad at all considering that we launched the channel just weeks before the festival!
We have presented a total of 17 new works – many of which premieres – by both established composers and by students. A record in the history of the festival, one that we are very proud of.
We are at a loss for words when it comes to the gratitude we feel towards everyone who helped us make this a very, very special edition of the festival. So we’d like to extend a massive THANK YOU to all of our partners, venues, artists and of course – the audience, both in Gothenburg but also all over the world! It’s overwhelming to see the support and the love from music fans around the globe.
We’ll see you again soon!
