TIMING IS DIVINE – a drum ritual. A show about VOLUME, RHYTHM and DRIVE.

Bass player Athina Kontou’s project “Mother” is a story about a musician who was born to Greek parents in Germany and considers both countries her home. With her ensemble, Athina arranges pieces from Greek musical culture and builds a link between her identity as a musician and her Greek roots.

Simon Rose (UK/DE) is a musician-composer, researcher and author. He’s a recognised baritone saxophonist with a main interest in open improvisation and appears on over forty music releases.

Since her debut in the late 1990s, Icelandic pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs has released twelve albums, praised by critics worldwide. Over the years, she has played in ensembles of various kinds at prestigious festivals around North America and Europe. In 2015 and 2019, she won the award “Performer of the year”. More recently, she has also composed music for TV and film.

Anna-Liisa Eller and Taavi Kerikmäe are brilliant musicians who have performed together as an unusual duo of Estonian kannel and keyboards for several years. In their mutual performances they have fascinatingly blended early and contemporary music.
