Experimental Music Expo – Open Call!
Experimental Music Expo – Open Call!
During the 2020 edition of the GAS festival, we want to try a new way of working with the festival content. We are therefore launching the showcase concept EME – Experimental Music Expo, taking place October 16th-17th 2020!
EME takes place in Gothenburg on the 16th to the 17th of Octoberand is about presenting established and un-established experimental artists and ensembles – Nordic, Baltic or international – in a smaller format, for initiated industry professionals as well as for the general public. It’s about showcasing musicians and composers and to create an opportunity for you to perform, network and make new connections.
We are now looking for artists and ensembles for this first edition of the EME showcase! The application is open for anyone working in the field of experimental music of any kind. Please note though that you should be able to perform in Gothenburg, Sweden either on the 16th or 17th of October. And you should also be aware that we have a limited capacity, meaning we will have to make a selection from the applications that we receive.
For the first edition of EME we have invited representatives from the contemporary music festivals Dark Music Days [IS], Estonian Music Days festival [EE], Gong Tomorrow [DK], Göteborg Art Sounds [SE], Jauna Muzika [LT], Musica Nova Helsinki [FI], Music and arts festival [IS], Punkt [NO], Spor [DK] and Ultima [NO]. In Gothenburg you’ll also have the opportunity to meet our four international curators New York based Du Yun – singer, composer and curator, David Dacks – artistic director of Music Gallery in Toronto, Cathie Boyd – director, producer and curator for producing art house Cryptic in Glasgow and finally Bert Palinckx – artistic director of November Music in the Netherlands.
So take this opportunity to meet industry professionals as well as local and national presenters and promoters and be part of the first edition of the EME showcase!
