As some of you may have guessed by now, the 2020 edition of the festival will be different from previous years. But after much thought and long discussions within the working group and with our partners, we have decided to go ahead with the festival that’s set for October 10th-16th!

Some of the concerts will be streamed – both from Gothenburg and from other countries – and some of the concerts you will be able to attend live, but of course with reduced audience capacity according to the current guidelines from the Public Health Agency of Sweden. We are still working on all the details regarding the “how’s” and “when’s”, but we will get back to you as soon as we have more information to share!

That said… Our new showcase concept EME – Experimental Music Expo and the Fenoba conference were both supposed to be part of this year’s edition of Göteborg Art Sounds. But due to the current situation in the world, we feel that we can no longer provide a suitable situation for this type of event, where a big part of the idea revolves around the actual physical meeting, dialogue and exchange between musicians, ensembles, presenters and industry professionals of all kinds, and we are therefore postponing both the EME showcase and the Fenoba conference until the beginning of May, 2021. This was of course not an easy decision, but the upside is that these two events will occur in connection to the Point Festival presented by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
