Announcing the second batch of confirmed artists for GAS 2018

Last week we announced the first confirmed artists for this year’s edition of the GAS-Festival, and it was so good to finally be able to share that with you. So why stop there? Here is the next batch of confirmed artists for GAS 2018!

Jennifer Walshe [IE]
Jennifer Walshe has been called the most original voice to emerge from Ireland in the past 20 years. Moving between performance and sound art, often with a touch of humor, Walshe is something out of the ordinary. Jennifer Walshe will perform at Atalante, Saturday October 6th at 19.30.

Kobe Van Cauwenberghe [BE]
Using contemporary technology and the original set-up of reel-to-reel tape-recorders, guitarist Kobe Van Cauwenberghe presents No [More] Pussyfooting, a unique live arrangement of music by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. Kobe Van Cauwenberghe will perform at Atalante, Friday October 5th at 21.15.

Horse Lords [US]
Part riffing, part meticulously controlled free jazz, Horse Lords create music that pull apart and reassembles itself into abstract forms, with rhythms and tones achieving trancelike effect through repetition and discipline. Horse Lords will perform at Atalante, Saturday October 6th at 21.15.

Jean D.L. & Karen Willems [BE]
Vague beats, electric humming, bells and dissonance all make out the basis for the guitar-and-drums duo of Jean D.L. & Karen Willems. Restful and light, constantly on the tipping point between beauty and chaos. Jean D.L. & Karen Willems will perform at Brötz, Wednesday October 3rd at 20.30.

Rakel Nystabakk & Eirik Ask remixing Göteborgs Symfoniker [NO/SE]
How does Bartók sound when remixed by two young sound artists? Lead by acclaimed conductor Kent Nagano, Göteborgs Symfoniker performs this seminal Bartók piece, only to then let it be remixed by Rakel Nystabakk & Eirik Ask in the concert house foyer. Rakel Nystabakk & Eirik Ask will perform at Göteborgs Konserthus, Friday September 28th at 20.00.
